After using the IQOO Neo 7 5G as my daily driver for 10 days, I’d like to share my experience with it. The pros and cons of the phone, as well as how it differs from the Chinese variant we reviewed previously.
In my opinion, the IQOO Neo 7 5G is the best buy phone under 30000 after discounts and bank offers. It is designed for users who want more power from their smartphones. Here’s why:

Design and Build Quality of IQOO Neo 7 5G

The Neo 7 5G has a plastic build back that makes it light and easy to handle. The in-hand feel is also good, and it does not feel cheap. However, you should expect a more finished plastic back that is likely to last longer and produce fewer scratches. It has only been 10 days since I bought the phone and I’m already seeing lines on the back.

The design of the IQOO Neo 7 5G phone is decent, nothing too crazy. I liked the camera housing and the triple camera setup, allowing you to rest your fingers over the edges during long gaming sessions. Overall, it looks the same as its predecessor the IQOO Neo 6.

Display

The Display of Neo 7 looks premium and it is the best in the price range of under 30000. The HDR+ functionality and peak brightness of 1300 Nits make it an excellent choice for those who enjoy streaming media content on Netflix or other OTT apps.

This phone’s display specifications are not only on paper, but also in real life scenarios you’ll experience the quality of the display while indoors or outdoors.

As a result of the high-end processor’s optimization, the display performance is optimized with its high refresh rate. This means that when swiping or switching between apps, you will not feel any lag or jittering. The fluid 120 hz display works like butter on Neo 7 5G.

Hardware and Performance

The IQOO Neo 7 is powered by a Dimensity 8200 processor, which is a flagship-grade chipset and it’s almost impossible to beat this processor in a ₹30000 range smartphone. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 11 out of the box with the company’s custom UI, the Funtouch OS 13.

The Dimensity 8200 processor in this phone is an unbeatable one at this price point. This processor will handle heavy-duty tasks without making a single noise or without heating up. Even after long gaming sessions, the IQOO Neo 7 5G’s 3D Cooling system works great to cool down the processor.

With the X-Axis linear motor, you get the vibration feedback like you’re playing with a joystick or gamepad on this phone. You won’t experience frame drops on graphic-intensive games such as Batter Field, etc. With IQOO Neo 7 5G, you are going to have an excellent gaming experience.

Camera Hardware

The IQOO Neo 7 5G features a triple camera setup on the back, which includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The IQOO Neo 7 5G produces good images with good detail. The colours are balanced and aren’t oversaturated, unlike the Chinese variant that we reviewed earlier.

Light is captured in such a way that the highlights aren’t blown out by the Neo 7. Using the computational engine, it stores the best of the picture. The phone captures night photos very well, and the primary camera captures the details in the darkest scenarios. As a result of the OIS on the camera, the photos are sharp and videos remain stable.

User Experience

In contrast to the Chinese variant of the Neo 7, the Indian variant delivers a much cleaner experience on Neo 7 5G phone. Although there’s a section in settings that lets you turn off Hot Apps and Hot Games, the phone runs much smoother.

For downloading or installing games or apps, the Indian variant always takes you to the Google App Store.

Battery and Charging

The IQOO Neo 7 has a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The company claims that the phone can be charged from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes. The Neo 7 also has support for 45W fast wireless charging, which is a unique feature.

Verdict

In general, the IQOO Neo 7 5G is a nice phone for under 30000. However, if you can get the IQOO Neo 6 for under 25000, it is also a great option.
