Here comes the most stylish phone of 2021, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. It’s not only a style statement, but the palatable price tag is an added advantage. Samsung has introduced a few new features in this innovative phone and the device is gaining popularity due to its cool factor and ability to fold into a compact little device.

The smartphone offers high-end features and due to massive discount, it’s a no brainer bargain. However, because of a few shortcomings, many customers are undecided, whether to go by this device or not. This article clears air on all such doubts.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 gets a couple of flagship features that were conspicuously disappearing from its predecessors. 120Hz display, stereo speakers and a high-end processor are some of the salient points. Water resistant is obviously the biggest attraction of this phone. Huge discount of Rs 14,000 – Rs 15,000 is however, a better proposition to consider. The unique folding option makes it stand at the top.

Let us discuss different features point by point in this review of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. .

Design and build quality: The folding action makes it special

The smartphone folds vertically to go from a standard size device to something that is fit even in the tightest of the pockets. The manufacturers have strengthened the hinge and even the frame. The device has Armor Aluminium for increased durability while Gorilla glass victus protects the entire body.

The folding action makes this device more special. The device looks stunning due to the three-tone design. The metal frame and the hinge are of different colours on the glass. Adding more to its charm, the cover display is all black. The device is quite comfortable in use. Its light weight of 186g is another advantage.

The manufacturers have given certain gap between two halves of the phone, when it is folded and this saves the display from scratches and damages.

Display: No legibility issue even in bright sunlight

The cover screen of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is 1.9-inch, appreciably larger. This allows you to have bigger previews before capturing selfies. The offered widgets are more usable than the previous versions. You can choose from seven widgets including music player, voice recorder, alarm, weather, calendar, timer and Samsung health. The main foldable display (7.6-inch) has 128 Hz refreshing rate and this ensures that now the user gets a creamy smooth scrolling experience. The content quality is superb. The device is brighter as compared to its previous version. The user does not find any problem including the legibility issue even under the bright sunlight. And due to the AMOL display, it looks charming with vivid colours. The plastic film, which was pre-installed is now much stronger and the mobile touch is more reassuring. The flex mode allows the phone to open at an angle and the supported apps are separated in the middle. The user finds the main content on the top half and the important controls on the lower side. The flex mode is quite helpful in hands-free video calls and taking photos. This new Flex mode panel feature adds to the user’s experience. The feature shows you the brightness, volume, screen shot controls and quick panel on the lower half of the screen. In other terms, it’s a complete blemish-free display.

Camera: The flex mode offers unmatching experience

Galaxy Z Flip3 5G stands on its own, so there’s nothing to hold, and nothing to hold you back. Now there’s no reason to let them shoot a Youtube Shorts* or a Tik Tok Video.

The camera quality is above average. Even in challenging light conditions, it’s performance is better. The camera automatically takes long-exposure shots. The manufacturing company has also made optimizations to the camera’s imaging process. The main camera captures photos in more vivid colours. Users get sharp indoor and outdoor images. At the back, there’s a 12MP main rear camera with F1.8 aperture, Dual Pixel autofocus, and optical image stabilization. The foldable display has a 10MP selfie camera – a standard one. Selfie quality too is good. Thanks to the flex mode offered in this device, you get massively better results. All in all, the cameras of the phone keep you happy with their performance. The users definitely enjoy having access to the flex mode as it allows you to set the device down anywhere and start shooting. The tripod is a forgotten accessory here. The Director’s view mode is a unique feature that shows live preview from all the cameras. A full-pro mode, when combined with the flex mode is quite potent.

Performance: Undoubtedly superb

There is absolutely no doubt about its classy performance. Multimedia performs well and multitasking experience too is fantastic. The Z Flip 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 888 whose performance is as good as you expect. There is 8 GB of RAM and it is sufficient to keep things running at all the times. Network strength and speakers’ performance are fabulous. To summarize, it offers flagship performance and there is no reason to make any complaint.

Battery: A pretty standard affair

The battery life is at par with what you expect in a high-end phone. The device has 3,300 mAh battery and you can expect around 11-12 hours working on a single charge with 3-4 hours of screen on time. The user gets 15W charging on this phone. A full charge is supposed to take an hour and 29 minutes according to the phone manual. The device supports 10W fast wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The smartphone runs Android 11 with One UI 3. One UI is the best software experience out there in the world of Android smartphones. The new drag and split feature is also available here. The manufacturers have assured of three years of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates.

Final verdict

There is really no reason, why the mobile-enthusiasts would not want to pick-up Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 right away. It’s a next generation phone, most suitable for those who are looking for a high-end phone that is fashion statement at the same time. It’s great phone, close to being the perfect. Samsung has added many new upgraded features to this version and substantially reduced the cost. So, no point to complaint.
