Xiaomi POCO F1- REVIEW

Hey friends, Today we are going to talk about the Xiaomi Poco F1.

A new trend is set soon after the launch of this phone because here you get snapdragon 845 processor in just 21000 rupees.

All of you know that Poco F1 is a flagship phone.

But you get Poco F1 at the price of 21000 rupees.

OnePlus 6 also has snapdragon 845 but comes at a price tag of 35000 and Asus ZenFone 5Z comes at 28000 including the bank offer.

Now, if you thinks that you would experience as same as OnePlus 6 and ZenFone 5Z in Poco F1. It’s not like that. There’s a lot of differences that I will inform you.

First of all, we will talk about the pros of Poco F1, and will discuss cons further.

The good thing is the price of the phone. Giving snapdragon 845 at the range of 21000 is a great job.

Along with you will get liquid cooling technology which helps to reduce the heating effect. Dual 4g support is also available. I haven’t faced any issue related to performance. App opening speed is also very fast.

Talking about its display, it comes with 6.18 inch display and a protection of corning gorilla glass 3.

Colors are quite good. I don’t found any issue in its display in terms of color and brightness but there’s some issue related to its display that we would discuss further.

It comes with 4000mAh of battery with fast charging support and USB type c port for fast charging. Here Xiaomi has really done a great job.

Let’s move forward, I also liked one more feature, as you know there’s a trend going on of the notch screen. But most of the companies skip the led notification light to provide notch screen but here it’s totally different. Led notification light is provided at the lower end.

And if you look at its back side, you will find that its camera is not much engraved out of the phone. I liked this too.

Now looking at the software, it runs on android Oreo and you would get an update of android P. Date is not fixed for the update but you would definitely get it by the end of 2018. Its user interface is same as MIUI. It is named MIUI for Poco.

You get a lot of option for customization like app lock, dual app, call recorder, native video calling. These all are inbuilt options.

So, now it’s time to check its face unlock, fingerprint scanner and audio quality.

After that, we would discuss about the cons of Poco F1. I will be discussing all the related problems regarding this phone.

First, let’s take a look on its fingerprint scanner. It is really very fast and unlocks in just a tap.

Now let’s check its face unlock, it contains IR face unlock, let’s see the advantage of IR face unlock.

It instantly unlocks the device just after pressing the power button. It’s really very fast and also not unlocks the device in closed eye.

It is really a great work by Xiaomi as it works correct in dim light too.

So, its face unlock and fingerprint scanner is very fast. I even do not face any issue related to its audio quality.

Loudspeaker is also good and also gives best output on using headphone jack.

Now talking about its cons,

First defect is in its built quality

If you hold this phone in your hand, you will not feel that you are holding a phone with price tag of 21000.

It would look a device of below 15000 range because of its polycarbonate back.

Now if you are thinking to use it without back cover, don’t go for it because there’s a huge chance to get early scratches. The side buttons are also made by plastics.

Use the back cover, but along with back cover, it is recommended to use tempered glass because it’s screen is ejected sideways. If the phone incidentally falls in a wrong angle, glass might crack easily.

I don’t liked the back cover (in the box) because it doesn’t protect the front glass.

If I look at one plus 6, there’s no such issue related to screen, the cover protects the glass and prevents the screen to get harm and Asus ZenFone 5Z is also the same, if it falls, the glass would not even touch the ground and the screen would remain safe.

Second cons is its notch, it has a huge notch.

Apart from the big notch, bezels at the corner are also very big and even the curve at the corner is also not in a proper shape.

There’s a huge difference in bezels of one plus 6 and ZenFone 5Z when compared with Poco F1.

Chin is also very small in both the devices and even if you take a look on Realme 2, it’s look would look better in comparison to Poco F1.

Now I will inform you about the problems that arise due to notch.

The biggest issue is the notification. There is no notification indicator; you have to swipe down to check the notification.

Icons are also not visible. If your wifi or Bluetooth is switched on, you have to swipe down to check the status.

This I found very irritating.

Even to watch battery percentage you have to swipe down.

Now talking about its camera. Many of us feel that due to good processor camera would not be comparatively better.

But it’s not like that, 20 mp front camera is really fantastic.

You gets 12+5 mp rear camera.

The aperture for primary camera is F1.9 and for the secondary camera you gets f2.0 aperture.

Its rear camera gives a very good performance in day light but faces problem in sharpness in low light.

Secondly, colors in low light are not so good.

It needs improvement in portrait and low light photography.

I liked the front camera but dedicated flash is missing in the front camera instead you are provided with a display flash.

You get EIS in its camera for videography.

The last cons is not for everyone but it matters for many us.

You cannot watch full HD videos in online paid sites like Amazon prime videos, Netflix etc. Even 720p is also not supported. You could just stream upto 540p.

The dream security level is L3.

If I talk about OnePlus 6 or Asus ZenFone 5Z, you will not face such problem because you get L1 security level.

Even Asus ZenFone also had L1 security level.

It requires a license, so we can conclude that Xaiomi had done this for the cost cutting.

Overall Poco F1 is an excellent device in 21000 rupee, especially for gaming.

But you cannot compare it with OnePlus 6 or Asus ZenFone 5Z as there are lots of differences and also both are premium devices.

The best variant of Poco F1 is of 21k, 29k variant could not be considered as value for money, and to go for 24k variant, you have to think a bit.

But don’t think too much to but 21k variant as it is super value for money device where you gets 6GB ram and 64GB storage with hybrid SIM slot.

Share your views on this phone, also tell me what you think is the best and worst part of this device.
