With the successful sale of Samsung Galaxy S II world-wide and Galaxy S III leaked online, it will become easy for the South Korean tech giant in forgetting where it all began. The original version of this handset’s Android update will be released via Three in January coming year.

Confirming the news, Three posted a tweet stating that Galaxy S will be upgraded to the latest Android 2.3.6 some time at the beginning of next year. Android 2.3.4 update for Samsung Galaxy S has not yet been released by Three and it was just recently the Android 2.3.5 update has been launched.

Three has claimed of skipping previous updates and straight away go to Android 2.3.6 update as it is likely to bring more fixes compared to the previous versions.

It has become a matter of wonder for 3G as to whether this is likely to be the last update for Android on the Samsung Galaxy S handset as the launch of the Ice Cream Sandwich undoubtedly will shift Google’s priorities.

The exact date of the Android update of Samsung Galaxy S has not yet been disclosed.
