Google has put brakes on universal roll-out of Ice Cream Sandwich/Android 4.0 update for Samsung Nexus S phones. Following the launch of Samsung Galaxy Nexus earlier this month, Nexus S was chosen as the first handset for Android 4.0 update.

A couple of users of Samsung Nexus S that debuted Android Gingerbread have received the update already while notifications have been sent to others wrongly conveying them the message that the upgrade is ready.
Google in its feedback has given an explanation stating that it has decided to pause the roll-out of Android 4.0 update while looking at feedback from the existing users.
Paul Wilcox, Google community manager posted on Android support forums stating that if one received update notification sometime ago but this update is currently not available for one’s handset and this is the reason behind Google’s pausing the roll-out update in the area while they monitor feedback.
He also added that the Android 4.0/Ice Cream Sandwich update is constantly being rolled out all over the world as a result one’s handset will receive the next update notification when it will once again be available in one’s region.
