Facebook has joined hands with Taiwan’s HTC to develop an Android smartphone as stated by a technology blog called All Things Digital. Code named Buffy, the project is aimed in creating a customized smartphone adapted for the social networking platform based in California.

The technology blog also stated that the handset will deeply integrate Facebook consisting of over 800 million members. A Facebook team is presently working with HTC for the smartphone and also trying to make contracts with telecom providers which they are looking forward to release in the coming 18 months as stated by the blog.
A Facebook spokesman however refused to directly comment on the latest project Buffy to Things Digital yet stated that that their mobile scheme is simple and that each handset is better if they are deeply social.
The spokesperson also stated that they are working all over the whole mobile industry with hardware manufacturers, operators, application developers and OS providers in order to offer powerful social experiences for more people all over the world. HTC already manufactures handsets with in-built dedicated Facebook programs.
