Vodafone follows HTC’s footsteps, launches Facebook phone

Vodafone has announced to launch a Facebook phone—Vodafone Blue. This handset has specially been designed for social networking enthusiasts.

This handset will be available in Indian showrooms at a price tag of Rs 4,950. It will offer users a complete Facebook experience thereby enabling them to visit profiles, updating their status as well as uploading pictures in just a single click.

To add to it, the homescreen of this Facebook phone constantly displays posts, notifications and updates. Along with a host of social networking features this handset also boasts of features of a classic handset.

Vodafone Blue comes with a host of advanced features and specifications. These include 2.4 inch QVGA screen, QWERTY keypad, optical trackpad, fast internet browsing, 2 megapixel camera, FM Radio, and 3.5 mm jack.

Vodafone has stated that this handset will be retailed across 4,000 stores in India. The telecommunication company also stated that they are looking forward to upgrade the handset by adding the option of localized content, regional language, Wi-Fi and 3G in the coming 12-18 months.

Vodafone is also looking forward to introduce Webbox in India which recently made its debut in South Africa. This device plugs into a TV set and allows access to internet browsing.
