Big tablet fight in Europe- Sony rolls out Tablet S and Tablet P

Sony has finally entered the tablet war by launching its first two tablet PCs—S tablet and P tablet in Europe. This is likely to give a tough competition to Apple iPad. The design of both these tablets is unique. The former boasts of a 9.4” screen while the latter boasts of two 5.5” screens.

The Sony S tablet will hit stores in mid September and will be available in two versions of 16 GB at $499 and 32GB at $599. While on the other hand the price and launch date of Sony P tablet has not yet been disclosed.

Both these tablets connect to the net via Wi-Fi but international customers can try their hands at a model which will come with a SIM slot which will offer cellular network compatibility.

Sony Tablet S features and specifications

It comes in a folded book style and is preloaded with up to date features and specifications. These include Tegra 2 chipset, Android 3.1, home theatre remote application, power/sleep button, volume rockers, notification light, headphone jack, SD card slot, Micro USB port, 1GB RAM, 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, and 10.1” Honeycomb slate.

The list of features also includes 0.3 MP camera for video calling, 5 MP camera capable of recording up to 720p HD video recording, File Transfer app, Reader Store, Music and Video Unlimited, PlayStation Certified, Desk Cradle and Bluetooth Keyboard among others.

Sony Tablet P features and specifications

Here P stands for pocket. This tablet is highly portable and lightweight. It boasts of a host of advanced features such as 4 GB internal memory, up to 32 GB micro SD card slot, Sony eReader, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, front facing VGA camera, 5 megapixel rear camera, Micro USB sync, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB capability, in-built 3G, quirky dual-screen among others.
